2026 FIFA World Cup Groups Betting Guide

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is the first tournament to feature 12 groups and 48 teams, completely reshaping the group stage betting landscape. Instead of 8 groups of 4 with 2 qualifiers each, there are now 12 groups where 32 teams advance: the top two from each group automatically, plus the eight best third-placed teams.

This changes the betting fundamentals significantly. Elite nations face weaker group opposition with less at stake, the group winner market on a nation like Brazil at 1.16 or Spain at 1.20 has limited return, but secondary markets (To Qualify, Group Forecast, and specific team qualification bets) now offer more varied and interesting value.

This guide covers all 12 groups with every Duelbits market available, group winner odds, to qualify yes/no prices, and group forecast combinations. All markets are live now at Duelbits Sportsbook.

For our full tournament winner, Golden Boot, and overall betting strategy guide, see the World Cup 2026 Complete Betting Guide.

All odds from Duelbits Sportsbook, correct at time of writing and subject to change.

How World Cup Group Betting Works

Three main market types are available on Duelbits for every group:

  • Group Winner: Which team finishes first? The group winner receives a favourable knockout bracket position. This is the standard outright market.
  • To Qualify (Yes/No): Will a specific team advance from the group? In the 48-team format, three teams from each group can advance (top two automatically + potentially as a third-place qualifier). This market is settled as Yes if the team finishes first or second (guaranteed qualification).
  • Group Forecast: Which two teams finish 1st and 2nd in exact order? Example: "Brazil / Morocco" means Brazil 1st AND Morocco 2nd. These carry the highest odds because both selections must be correct.

Group A: Mexico, South Africa, Korea Republic, Czechia

Mexico host the opening match of the 2026 World Cup, facing South Africa in Mexico City on June 11. Group A is the most narratively compelling opener of the tournament.
